There is this debate that started on vogue.com and amongst people anywhere about bloggers and editors and how some are better than others. I know I give the same credit to both sides.
People can be really good or really bad, no matter where they’re writing from or anything from. Good and bad is really up to you and your good and bad, but fashion is about passion. About passion that leads to dedication that – usually – leads to professionalism. There’re bloggers and there’re editors that seem to not care that much about fashion (and the good that fashion might do to people), but care about the fame that comes with it. I don’t quite understand how that stands straight.
Anyway.
In the last decade or so, magazines, at times, denatured the perception people have on fashion precisely because of their attitude and vision on fashion. Just as some bloggers do.
So, what’s the difference?!
It’s always about the choice and you know what they say: you are a choice away from a totally different life or something. It’s about creating your own universe with the things you find yourself in, with people you can grow with, with magazines that didn’t just turn into businesses, with websites that take you places you haven’t even thought of.
Just open your mind and shut your eyes to hatred of any kind.
I often think why is it necessary? Does it do anything good? Is it useful? Or what? Why? I know it’s human and it’s part of us…
Fashion wise, too.
But this accusations only smell of fear to me. Why – publicly – accuse? What does that accomplish? One has to tell the world that another one is really bad (one’s opinion) so that what? Either one wants to grow some popularity out of it or wants to eliminate any kind of competition.
It is about the one, in the end. And, only after, about another one.
So, this was supposed to be about street style.
Street style, to me, is browsing through websites and clicking “next” like there is no tomorrow till the right (in my opinion) picture comes along and I copy paste it on my desktop which is now absolutely full which means that – hey! – there are, still, brilliant people out there. Brilliant people who don’t just wear things for the sake of shows and who don’t forget who they are, but who do know what being human is like.
We are all a choice away from a totally different life and we are all just a click away from the world we choose to see.
Because human means being yourself. Your goofy, warm, happy, sad, hilarious, dark, strong, beautiful self.
Right?
Pure!
