Pleasure Delayers or 3 Outfits To Transition To Spring

We are all, willingly or not (not!)(ok, sometimes willingly), becoming these pleasure delayers. We keep on postponing the thrill of enthusiasm Spring has the ability to infuse us with. Not consciously, obviously, since it’s not in our hands to make Spring sprung (already!). Yet subconsciously, our minds are waiting at the starting line just like in a marathon run.

Just like there is no tomorrow!

It is becoming kind of interesting, this search for outfits in a season that seems to very much want to become a season on its own. Nor Winter, nor Spring, it’s Something! One day we’re cooler than ever in t-shirts and feel like Winter what? and the next day we’re running around naked through the house trying to figure out where’s the coat and where’s the hat.

Something just keeps on surprising us or, better yet, trying to mess with our minds and see how far we can go. Oh, but we can.

Go!

Hello!

Esteban Cortazar #pfw Fall/Winter ’17

Céline #pfw Fall/Winter ’17

Stella McCartney #pfw Fall/Winter ’17

These are some outtakes of the Fall Winter 2017/2018 I saved on my desktop long before Fall and Winter ***where did they go, btw?!*** even had started. Theoretically, they are gone. Practically, well, good luck with the running through the house, since the house is still the only place to run in right now.

And this is how we are all slowly but surely becoming pleasure delayers. The phrase is from Vanilla Sky – the movie, vanilla skies usually happen in between seasons and the most beautiful vanilla skies were painted by Claude Monet.

Our minds, waiting in line, have to think about something in the meantime. Oh yeah, they can watch the sky also. 🙄

Our hearts, though, they know it’s about the race bla bla, yet let the race already begin! is what don’t all of our minds and hearts want to hear Spring already say?

There was a Go! earlier, but may there never be a Stop!.

… And I’m not even that much into running.

We Are So Dependent On The Weather In Our Sweater

It only makes sense to write something on pieces of clothes we are dying not not to wear in cold weather. Yes. The weather. Cold, warm, everybody talks about it all the time. Borrring, as my older niece would lazily say while successfully imitating the rolling eyes emoji.

The 🙄 emoji, in fact. 👋🏻🙄

Now this is something you haven’t thought about before? Well, think of the t-shirt you’re wearing underneath your sweater today hoping for it to see the sunlight. Hoping for your eyes to see the sun and then for the sun to let your sweater come off. So maybe the t-shirt is going to stuck on you regardless of the weather. Yes.

But then there’s a pastel blue jacket (below) or a floral flowing dress (above) or a sort of a combination (all throughout) that you definitely can not wear in winter and are desperately trying not to let go of.

Or is it just me?

When you feel like Argh, I didn’t get the chance to wear this the whole summer! Or is it just me?

Who cares, the sun is going to shine anyway one day and everybody is going to do whatever it is everybody wants to. Wow, I know. The truth is we all have all sort of weird little things going on in our heads and sometimes letting it just go feels better than not even thinking about it. Now this would be borrring, Natasha. The little things make our everyday life.

The line between the little and the great things is so thin that it is almost invisible sometimes.

One heaven of a line. Just as the line between the warm and the cold weather. The weather again, Natasha!

The line between a complete stranger and anything but a stranger. Don’t what me. Or yourself.

And wear that dress. That shirt. You could stop wearing those shorts, nevertheless. Or wear them. Be a fucking Frankenstein if you feel like it. Just embrace it. Sink in it. Whatever it is, just sink in it.

A very good friend once told me on being sad to just sink in it completely and then you’ll know you went all the way. And then the sun comes out. It always does. And then you can totally sink in it, too.

It always rains before the sun comes out, Natasha.

Duh.

Rain can be nice, though, Natasha.

Ok.

To be honest, I keep beach dresses among sweaters just in case. Don’t you?

PS: And we haven’t even started on the umbrella ella ella.

Everybody Is At Least A Little Into Fashion #ss18

The things that first come to my mind when thinking of this fall’s fashion weeks for spring/summer 2018 might be the things you might want – hopefully – to have in your mind when talking over dinner tonight about the world, fate, work, passion, movies, books, style or fashion – hopefully – without the burden of ever being a fashion victim.

The more we know, the more we realise how much more there is to know is what they say, right?

Sometimes enjoying fashion feels wrong, yet at other times playing with it feels necessary just for the sake of playing and our brains. There is no prescription for how we’re supposed to act, think or do, so each of us can simply rely on what each of us feels based on intuition and knowledge.

So tonight, you and your friends. Dinner. Maybe some of them know, maybe some of them don’t, but you here reading this are about to find out. Because you are special, we all are and – hopefully – the friends you hang out with get you and are on the same page with you, unlike the lady who interviewed Jim Carrey during New York fashion week. The shock might have scared her and that’s why all the ***faces*** while Jim Carrey was just being himself and expressing in his own way what he felt like ***no faces***. Ultimately, we all kind of get what he sais, each of us just chooses whatever it is each of us wants to see or believe in.

So. Hello!

Pierpaolo Piccioli proved at Valentino once again that if you stay true to who you are and, therefore, do exactly what you feel like, in spite of trends, trending models or multi-million-followers Instagram accounts, you can reinvent the ordinary to make it extraordinary. Sort of the little things which are never little. Or simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.

That you can actually make love that can be shared with the world.

Renaissance princesses with a twist. Translucent and sparkling dresses. Sportswear with pumps. Sequins. Fireworks! Millennial pink which slowly but surely turns into the timeless black. Or red, or white. Or the ’80s – always in for those embracing the disco ease, the dancing, the spirit – I wanted to get back something of the glamour of the eighties that Mr. Valentino did so well, Pierpaolo said.

Grace Jone’s soundtrack is as strong as Piccioli’s creations.

Furthermore, his walk at the end of the show was just as elegant as the collection. He simply, smilingly and nonchalantly walked into the airy Parisian courtyard through the first rows, hugged Mr. Valentino and climbed up the leader as if preparing for the lift off. The Spring Summer 2018 collection had been partly inspired by the perspective of the Apollo moon landing, in which the earth was photographed from space and revealed in all its natural wonder, as Piccioli said according to vogue.com.

Emmanuelle Alt throws the most disco parties of them all. She is who we have always believed she has been. A fun, loving life, party girl.

Mica Argañaraz looks cool in anything she wears, depending on the show. She’s got a talent to be in any character she wants to without making a fuss out of it and lucky for it to be mastered by the coolest designers around. Check it out:

The frenzy over Thom Browne. Everybody’s stories and instastories.

Where some designers submerge themselves in the real world, Browne has always posited fashion as fantasy, dreaming bigger, pushing the eye to places it didn’t know existed. At a time when the world feels like a pretty bleak place indeed, his brand of escapism is more appealing than ever. It only makes sense then, that Browne should close his show with a life-size unicorn puppet instead of a bride – the mythical creature is surely his spirit animal. The fashion world could use more of his kind. Chioma Nnadi at vogue.com.

The trend that seems to have transitioned from the streets of #fashionweeks to our telephones and desktops is the trousers suits. The bigger and bolder the better.

Demna Gvasalia at Balenciaga continues to mock the fashion victims who would wear absolutely anything at any cost (literally) as long as it’s right from the catwalks and would not think it through. Maybe they just feel and that is all right as long as they are happy. Anyway, Gvasalia’s incisive, yet chic sort of sense of humour was all over the collection.

The coolest things at the show, though: 1. the models and 2. the fact that They [items] are joined, so you can wear them one way or the other as you will (Demna Gvasalia).

Céline is céline as always.

Calvin Klein for having Kaia Gerber on the lips of the whole planet.

Prada‘s new shape of sunglasses for Spring Summer 2018.

The colours at Stella McCartney and Stella McCartney.

The jumpsuits at Emanuel Ungaro.

The Vera Wang SS18 pictures that very mysteriously walked through the feed of my Instagram.

Old school cool at Isabel Marant.

Louis Vuitton for having Alicia Vikander as their icon and as of the #pfw Emma Stone also. A Vogue editor summed up the SS collection though as “Hamilton goes jogging”. The truth is that the robes and the bags were striking.

The neon socks at Miu Miu.

👇🏻 at Marni.

And yes, Donatella Versace‘s blow up of Instagram. Phshhh!

Have a good Fall WInter 2017, everybody!

And a fun night all right! Wink.

Clothes That Make Your Work Fun. What?

When you do what you love, you must be a better person than when you do what you don’t. On one hand. When you do what you love and it also happens to be what lets you wear whatever it is that you feel like wearing, then it’s on the other hand. Then you have two hands to high-five at the same time. It is even more interesting to come to the conclusion that, in fact, the two hands are high-fiving themselves as the two can not exist one after the another.

Unless you’re a doctor and you have to dress in the white uniform and you either don’t care at all about clothes and accessories or you wear the white uniform and you save people. Case in which you have the superpower to wear your underwear in the streets if you feel like wearing underwear in the streets and flaunt your aura like you just don’t care.

Or, you know, a t-shirt, a classic pair of jeans and sneakers or something.

Unless you’re Superman. Or Alicia Vikander.

So there’s the thing that you’re doing that you love all of the time and there’re the clothes you’re sharing the joy with all of the time. Or something. Because clothes are never just clothes if they are on you to make you feel like the better version of yourself.

When you wear what you love, you must be a better person.

When you’re with the one that you love in a kissing relationship or in a fun friendship or in a professional link, you must be a better person.

When you eat something you love (oh, man, just think of that fresh made bread-butter-pesto-prosciutto-mozzarella-tomatoes snack, or watermelon, or cheeseburger, or think fast of something super juicy for you to enjoy right now) (***what is it?***), you must be a better person.

When you see something for the first time and your eyes turn into cherries, you must be a better person.

I was leaving home for a meeting the other days, throwing on myself a white t-shirt, my blue mom’s jeans, the sandals from above, the perfume that makes me smile for no reason and rushed out the door. I found the perfect parking spot (the day became half nice already) and the beautiful summer morning light and air was there and upon running to the meeting, I thought to myself: man, I’m so lucky to be able to wear what I love wearing anyway anywhere to do the work I – without even thinking – have always dreamt of doing and cultivated unconditionally for.

In fact, the dream of doing all the stuff that I’m doing today must have involved the style I’ve always felt like myself in the most. I don’t know who chose who. I feel like my world ***OZ*** has this super inter connected things going on.

The surroundings I’m always aware of, the people around me and the mental notes I’m constantly taking. Observing. Appreciating. Admiring.

Loving.

High-fiving.

  1. Loose the hat, put on some glittery shoes and you’re ready for the party tonight. 2. Thank God for these sneakers trend for they will take you anywhere, anytime. They make a dress look all relaxed, a tuxedo fun, a pair of classic jeans and messy hair and tee Californian, shorts dressed.
    3. A tee under a short dress covers you. Literally. A pony tail uncovers. Whatever that is supposed to mean.4. A fun t-shirt might make you goof all day. That is if you like Goofy, but maybe you like Droopy. I like Droopy better, yet the Goofy in me never lets me down.5. When the light is right, everyone seems right. 6. You’ve got to have the right essentials, though, to feel right. Or like yourself. 7. Black mom jeans, black sandals and a special kind of top will make the simple aforementioned pieces look not so simple anymore.8. Hello!

Fall Fling

I am doing this one more time, mom!

Dressing up like “This is it!“, this is the last chance to wear summer in autumn and, then, I am switching to fall, sticking to it even. Only summer is so hard to let go. No? The thing is you never know when is the last sunny day when you can actually (more…)

What to post in #theworldtoday

The thing is, when you’re having fun, it’s so damn hard (sometimes) to pull out the phone and start taking pictures. Somehow. For me, at least, (sometimes) is. And I love both being in the back and front of the camera. At any time and date.

I just see the lens and I smile. Having a photographer as a best friend that enjoys so much the time together that wants to catch everything on camera would be so cool.

Yet, how cool it is to scroll down in the photos folder of your phone, some time later, and see the pictures and videos of the nights you hardly remember. You keep on replaying the reminiscences of the nights you hardly remember in your head and clothes do store them memories, yet a camera would definitely help.

And make you smile.

You see?

There’s one thing, though. Let’s say you don’t have a best friend photographer and you manage to take the pictures yourself and you don’t care of how good the light or the position are, you even enjoy the process and put your phone back in the bag. You did what? That’s right!

Without posting it on any social media?! It’s as if you hadn’t even been there.

Hey, I haven’t seen any of your pictures today, on the first day of Summer Well Festival. Well, well, Summerwell. Why? You should be there, in our phones!, a friend told me on the way home from the music festival, at 2 a.m.

And here comes another thing. The answer hit me inside out, whilst the words coming out. There are moments I feel I want to keep for myself. Not out of egoism, but love. I guess. It is too intimate. I guess. Or it feels so. I love taking pictures just as much as I love what clothes can do to us. And when the two combined turn out to be so good and I feel like kissing my phone the next day, I think to myself What a wonderful world. Jk. I think to myself There goes another opportunity of posting something cool and fun, yet I don’t feel sorry. But maybe I should. Oz in Paris is one of my dreams and, from private research, it seems like this is the way to do it. Post it all. All.

But this is the easy way and I chose the hard way. The easy way is easy. Duh. Who wants that?

But!

Don’t try to be something for everyone, just be everything for someone. is something I read on the Internet once and would def tattoo at some point.

Prior to social media, when we couldn’t see so much of the lives of everyone on the planet, we had more time for our lives.

No?

If you are under 16 and you don’t even know of what the f*ck I am talking here about, close your eyes and imagine yourself without Facebook or Instagram or Twitter. The things you’d have the time for and the conversations you might have, man!

But then again, watching live Isabel Marant fashion shows on Facebook or direct messaging Emmanuelle Alt on Instagram nowadays is pretty cool, too. And then I say You know what? F*ck that!.

Choose what feels right. Real. Well. Summerwell:

Yeah, Baby, Twist!

There are days when you have to leave in the morning and you have no idea when you’ll be back and you need an outfit that you know is going to make you feel like the rockstar that you are. Through the whole day.

On the inside.

Because yes, this is what clothes can do for you.

You can be anything you want to. You can be anything you want in life anyway if you work really hard for it. Sometimes, though, lip syncing on Snapchat in the car won’t do and you have to stick to the thing you, apparently, love more. And ultimately do more.

Because otherwise, you would be a rockstar fo sho’.

In fact, everybody is one when in the bathroom, singing in front of the mirror to the song one is obsessed with that started on the phone one carefully put near the window, so it won’t sink in the bathtub when one lipsinks. Wink. It is a long phrase, but one has to perfectly catch one’s seconds of fame.

So the day I wanted to rock just as much on the outside as I rock (meaning I literally sing rock music) on the inside, I wear a 100% cotton t-shirt and classic Levi’s jeans. The rest of the outfit depends on the twist I feel like and the place I am going to. And when I say “twist” I am talking about the scarf I seem to can’t let go of and twist it all over my body. At any times and places.

1.In the mornings, it could be the office or the coffee shop. The t-shirt, the jeans, a cool bag, a pair of block heels and the scarf wrapped on the head.

2. It all changes on the outside (one remains a rockstar on the inside) when the scarf goes on the wrist and the heals turn into flip flops (flip flops one can carry in the cool bag).

So basically, all you have to do is play with the scarf and carry a pair of flip flops in the bag.

Because hey, it is summer, and you never know how you will end up on the beach.
