It is very interesting how, every year, the vibe of the Oscars collects the energy from the red carpet, at first, then from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and finally from the people across the globe just to spread it out into the universe as a form of celebration. Of art.
This year, it wasn’t about a specific movie, actor, actress, movement, button, race, selfie. *Political moments tried to squeeze in from time to time, though.* It was about a sort of vibe that, just like an animated character, moved throughout and did the little things.
It was not even about the glitter or a certain color; there was obviously black, lots of white, blush tones, silver, a little bit of red, grey and some… Outlaws. A word used in the most admiring and inspiring way possible, a word that lights up a firework for all of us – dreamers, a word that makes the beautiful world we dream about possible, a word that in this case is synonymous with elegant.
It was about a vibe that seemed to have come from the actors and actresses wearing the clothes they liked – on one hand – and from the very few that hadn’t even thought about liking or not the clothes they wore, on the other hand. ***Hey, why wouldn’t you?***
💥 Outlaws. 💥
The women with style (synonymous with ELEGANCE) never age. There’s no particular age at which one must opt out of fashion or ever give up the pleasure of enjoying it as long as one knows. Loves. Has fun.
Meryl Streep looks good and Meryl Streep is, well, Meryl Streep and the sky is blue and everything, but I don’t know if she ever really thinks about her liking or not what she wears. But Meryl Streep is Meryl Streep and the sky is blue.
So it started on the red carpet and then it moved inside.
The vibe in the theatre built up from the attitude and actions, from the human energy rather than the stars. With hands holding, hugs, with Nicole Kidman crashing an interview with Sandra Bullock on ABC just for a hug and a declaration of affection, Rita Moreno wearing the same dress she wore at the Oscars 56 years ago, jumps, Helen Mirren’s shot, Gary Oldman telling his mom to put the kettle on, [he’s] briging the Oscar, Uggs takeover, with Jimmy Kimmel being nervous all night due to envelope fiasco exchange last year.
Fashion is a very good way to allow one to be who one wants to be and it seems like this year, at the 90th Oscars, the clothes made personal statements about who the actors and actresses are and how they see themselves and how they want to be seen by the world. And this is when thinking about what one likes and what one doesn’t comes in. We can’t run away from it and that’s great! Even though it’s nor political, nor social activism. It’s sincere, deep, serious, fun.
And then, political or not, social activism or not, the vibe that floated throughout [the world] was:
And it goes so harmoniously with the shade of blonde (don’t you feel an instant rush to turn blonde? No? Hm…), the wave the hair makes, with pink, the sun kissed skin, the lip balm, the slip black dress underneath, the lace-up sandals, the black bag and, la pièce de résistance, le kimono.
Why have I just enumerated all of the previous when you can easily see them yourself?
Yoga. So, let’s say I am at a yoga class. I get to ***oooh*** Savasana (one of the relaxation poses) and I relax and do the breathe in breathe out routine with my eyes closed. But then I hear a voice. Not my-wandering-around-in-circles-in-this-crazy-little-head-of-mine voice. It’s the teacher’s: “Relax your head, head is so relaxed right now. Relax your eyes, eyes are so relaxed right now. Relax your hands, hands are so relaxed right now.” and so on and so forth for each and every part of the body (and soul).
Hello, I was already doing all of the previous. Sense the repetition? It is intentional, hello!
The kimono is a big summer trend this summer and it is the genius version of the robe. You can go almost naked inside of it, because, hey, it covers so much of you anyway, but hey, in fact I am free as a bird inside. The choice of words here is just natural, let’s say. The shortest dress, skirt or shorts will do. The half butt shorts kinda shorts, you know? Or bikinis.
Margot Robbie here goes for the pretty safe combo and, sometimes, safe feels best. Sometimes.
You can go wild, whatever “wild” means to you, you little beast!
In your mailbox would be ideal, yet in your e-mail is pretty close, yay!
Hi and thanks, it’s a pleasure to have you here.
