There is this debate that started on vogue.com (and amongst people, generally anywhere, for some time now) with bloggers and editors and how some are better than others. Honestly, nowadays, I, personally, give the same credit to both of the “professions”.
Each of them can be really good or really bad. And good and bad is really up to you. I have met both bloggers and editors that are so much more into things and happenings (that matter) and fashion than both other bloggers and editors it hurst. It’s a manner of speaking.
But fashion is about passion. One way or another. It is about passion that leads to dedication that – usually – leads to professionalism. There are bloggers and there are editors that seem to do not care that much about fashion (and the good that fashion might do to people), but do about the “glitter” and fame that come with it, though I don’t quite understand how that stands straight.
In the last decade or so, magazines denatured – sort of – the perception people should have on fashion – that it is not just about glitter and fame – precisely because of their attitude and vision on fashion. Just as some bloggers do.
So, what’s the difference?!
It is always about the choice and you know what they say, “you are always one choice away from a totally different life” or something. It is bout creating your own universe with the things you find yourself in, with people you can grow with, with magazines that didn’t just turn into businesses, with websites that take you places you haven’t even thought of.
Just open your mind and shut your eyes to hatred of any kind.
I often think why is it necessary? Does it do anything good? Is it useful to anybody? Or what? Why? I know it is human and it is part of us…
Fashion wise, too.
But this accusations only smell of fear to me. Why – publicly – accuse? What does that accomplish? One has to tell the world that another one is really bad (one’s point of view) so that what? Either one wants to grow some popularity out of it or to eliminate any kind of competition.
It is about one, in the end. And, only after, about another one.
So, this was supposed to be just about street style.
Street style, to me, is browsing through websites and clicking “next” like there is no tomorrow till the right (in my opinion) picture comes along and I copy paste it on my desktop which is now absolutely full which means that – Hey! – there are still brilliant people out there. Who don’t just transform and wear things for the sake of shows and money and forget about who they are and, in the end, forget about just being human.
We are all just a choice away from a totally different life and we are all just a click away from a the world we choose to see.
Because human means being yourself. Your goofy, warm, happy, sad, hilarious, dark, strong, beautiful self.
