Luggage affair

“I could almost not go somewhere because of the luggage I have to pack”. Said no one ever. Well, someone actually did tell this. My mom. And I am all over her and dad’s clothes packing up the perfect baggage for holidays. Outfits and all. And my mom’s so happy.

Well, here I am fronting my own trip. Snowboard trip. Clothes and all.

And it is so easy. 1 oversized wool turtleneck. 1 chubby cable knit. 1 chunky ribbing sweat. 2 very colourful hoodies. Tons of t-shirts (5). 1 shirt (just in case). 1 classic bf, blue jeans. 1 straight, cropped (it ain’t -10 degrees and snowing for nothing), dark grey jeans. 1 slim black jeans. 1 UGG (on top of the list). 1 black boots. And this is what comes out of it.

That is unless you have The Row’s twinsets. Then you should carry that.

Busted. This was for the way back home. Easy like Sunday morning.
If only there would’ve been a camera a week ago in my bedroom. Would’ve cached anything, but me saying: “Oh, man, this luggage, man! I don’t wanna leave!”. Oh no, no, no. I love you, luggage. I would actually live with you. In you.

Camp and Fun. Fun All the Time. Time to Camp.

You know, life in a week at a high (up in the sky) ski resort somewhere between mountains looks very much like a school camp. To be honest, I’ve never been a fan. Of school camps. Looking back at it again, it was actually fun. I just didn’t put that much thought into it then. So I try to put more into this right now. A week of snowboarding Kitzbühel.

Waking up early every morning. Everybody does it here. Without complaining. Well, I do this everyday. So no alarms for me. Waking up at 8  (without any annoying sound) is cool. Right. Still the rhythm these days is not my cup of tea of an idea of the ideal vacation.

You wouldn’t say. Yes. Vacation rings the bell so loudly.

About cups, though. Mm, the breakfasts in ski trips are awesome. Freshly baked bread. Butter. Tea. While snowing outside. Mm. I am enjoying it to the fullest. Says I while looking back to the camps again. When I don’t even get why I didn’t want to eat. Little did I knew then.

Yes, this is a photo from the plane breakfast, because guess what! In the morning everybody is so freaked out to get out a.s.a.p. that a time frame for a photo hasn't occur yet.

So yaaaay! It’s morning and it’s the time to dress up. Yay! Not. It takes 20 minutes at least. And it’s not about the choices I have to make. No. It is about the putting it all on you. Literally. 1. The layers. 2. The protections (2.1. wrists, 2.2. my right hand’s big finger, (yes!), 2.3. knees and 2.4. an incoming hopefully butt one). 3. The fleece. 4. The pants. 5. The jacket. 6. The boots (till your blood stops). 7. The helmet. 8. The goggles. 9. The gloves. And finally, 10. the snowboard! At least you’re done with your cardio. Not kidding.

This is the feeling. After dressing up for it. Guess what, didn't get a chance to take a photo before leaving. Guess why! Yup, we were in a rush to get. Heeere!

But then there’s the thought. Oh, but maybe just today I could skip it? Just today. Should this be the day?

It’s not.

off to slopes

Yuhu!

up in the sky

So we mingle our way to the ski-lifts. Up and off to the slopes. The bunch of people. Patiently (well, almost) waiting. And we arrive. Up there. And we go. So does the whole bunch. The routine. The camp routine. We all gather together and we all ride. You can’t literally do anything else. Ok, you can do this:

And we ride and ride. The whole bunch rides and rides. Vshht vshht!

The lunch is great. And we all have it together. Camp. Camp. Only that we are up in the sky, and the sun shining, and I am drinking a Coca-Cola with ice and lemon. Not camp alike. Hihi.

Oui, this is a last year's picture. The chaise-longs in France look much cooler. And feel alike.

Back to Kitzbuhel.

Oh yes!

Oh yes!

Riding some more. Everyone!

But oh! The feeling of getting in the car and heading home? The shower, the hot tea, the chocolate and the couching? Priceless. But it is time to gather some more. Camp gather. In the restaurants. And depending on the country, this just might be another highlight of the day. But this is a whole other post. Nevertheless, the schedule is the same everywhere. A walk through the city gets us home and it’s either a movie, a game or a book that settles us all in our beds just in time to rest for the next day that takes us back to camp. Winter school camp. Winter school cool camp.

And no, I am no fan of winter cold, wind, dirt. But I am a fan of snow. Well, more of admiring it from the inside. And no, I am not into that much of a corset kinda girl. I am more of a surf girl. Not that I know what it’s like. Heard and watched a lot of, though. Flowy clothes and hair. Freedom tattooed. On my forehead. No tattoos so far. Hands in the air. Music in my ears. Comfy shoes. Ok, I admit. Heels I will bare when necessary.
