Sing Along, Watch “Sing Street” And Wear The ’80s

January 03, 2017

The 1st of January should be declared the hangover day (if one hasn’t already), the good kind of hangover that makes your mind loosen up and laugh at every joke while wearing the most hugging-your-body clothes ever. It can turn the first day of the year into an out of this planet day, when people are not supposed to work, they don’t run for food (restaurants and groceries are closed), everyone just chills, isn’t anxious about what’s next and is cool with the undone hairstyle that no one seems to care about. Especially when the New Year’s party was great and you (I :D) got to dance all night with the goofiest friends you (I :D) adore in a place who has it all: food, club, theatre and an actors’ cabin.

So great, I couldn’t even fall asleep in the morning great. 😀 And, then, felt like out of this planet.

Right on time to couch potato alongside the Christmas tree and watch some new movies. New Year. New vibes. Sing Street is not just a great way back to this very weird, but beautiful world we’re living in, where art is one of the best ways to escape the sometimes not so fun reality, but also a way for us all to make a better world. This is what this Golden Globes’ film nominee for Best Picture is, precisely, about. About, first, making our own universe of peace and love and, then, making the world a better place. About unconditional love. Love!

The movie is as honest as it can be. Honesty!

From beliefs to relationships, to humour, to friendships, to dreams, to passions, to work, to human interactions, to “man in the mirror”, to fashion. Sing Street is about the ’80s style (fashion and charisma) which is set to become 2017’s biggest hit.

Good vibes. MTV. High-tops. Wide-shoulders tops. Power suits. Glitter. Slouchy tailored trousers for office wear. Fun. Activewear. Passion. Ruffles. Denim skirts.

However, it is said that it is not the years that should be better or happier, but the people. Therefore, let’s wish for each other to be kinder, to love more, to get to know ourselves in order to be honest with us and then with the world. Do more of what we enjoy doing and wear the ’80s. Clothes do their magic, however.

But then the 2nd of January came and it was on Monday. Today feels like a good day to start over. Any day feels so. Could so. No? Yes!

Hey, this is Cristina Pavelescu wearing a music cassette sweater, decoding (life) style and writing from wherever, yet always living in OZ, a world I invite you into. To smile in front of our screens (and live one day), put any kind of questions, answer in writing (or imagination) and marvel at fashion which is, in fact, style.
